Summer Fresh

We opened Summer Fresh along the road that connects Kannur and Mattannur. We are quite close to the new airport, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by our door. The shop is a simple place where people can stop for a quick break while they are traveling. Mattannur can get very hot, and we noticed that travelers were always looking for something to cool them down. We don't have a big team, usually just two of us working the counter and keeping things clean. The shop is small and we’ve kept the decor very basic. We spend a lot of our time prepping fruit and making sure the machines are in good working order. The sound of the airplanes and the cars on the main road is something we’ve grown to ignore. We don't have a fancy menu with a hundred items. We just serve what is fresh and available that day. It feels good being a part of this community near the airport. We know many of the taxi drivers who stop here regularly for a break. It's a busy life, but it's honest work. We aren't trying to build a big brand or anything like that. We just want to do a decent job for people who are on the move. Sometimes the fruit delivery is late, and we just have to make do with what we have.
