Pj Food Products

Pj Food Products is based in the Karaikunnam area of Thalassery. It is a quiet place with a lot of greenery around our small production unit. We focus on making various food items that people use in their daily cooking. We started this business because we wanted to work for ourselves. The building is just a simple one-story structure with a tiled roof. Inside, it’s mostly kitchen equipment and packing tables. We don't have a big automated line. Most of the work is done by hand, from measuring ingredients to sealing the packets. We have a few local women who come in to help us with the packing. We talk about the weather and local news while we work. Thalassery has a long history with food, and we feel like we are just a small part of that tradition. We don't do any big advertising. Word usually spreads from person to person in the village. Sometimes we have a bad batch or a machine breaks down, and we just have to spend the day fixing it ourselves. It’s a very hands-on business. We keep our records in a simple diary. The air here is nice and fresh, which makes the work more pleasant. We just try to make things that we would be happy to eat ourselves. It’s nothing more complicated than that. We are happy with how things are going for now.
