Panayil Heavy Engineering

If you drive along the road from Kannur to Valapattanam, you will find us over in Chirakkal. The traffic on this road is constant, with trucks and buses always rattling past our front gate. We do heavy engineering work, so the shop is full of big pieces of iron and heavy tools. It is a noisy place, and the ground kind of shakes when the big machines are going. We don't have much of a front office, mostly just the workshop where all the real work happens. The guys are usually covered in a bit of grease and metal dust by noon. We take our breaks together and talk about the news or the local football scores. Chirakkal is a good place for a business like ours because we are right on the main path. People bring in broken parts or ask us to build new frames for their equipment. It is physical work and it can be exhausting when the humidity is high. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people know we are here just by the sound of the hammers and the sight of the big stacks of metal outside. We stay focused on the job at hand and try to get things done so the customer can get back to their own work. It is just honest, heavy labor every single day of the week.
