About Jai Priya Flouring Mill – Food & Beverages in Kannur
You can find Jai Priya Flouring Mill on Puvathoor Road in Peruvallur. It’s a place that’s always a little bit white with flour dust, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. The machines make a loud, steady humming sound that you can hear from a bit of a distance down the road. We spend our days grinding grain for the local families and it’s a job that keeps us very busy, especially before festivals or big events. People bring in their bags of wheat or rice and wait around for us to turn it into fresh flour. There’s something nice about the smell of the warm grain as it comes out of the mill. The shop is simple, with just the heavy machinery and a few benches for people to sit on while they wait. Puvathoor Road isn’t the busiest street in the world, but there’s enough traffic to keep things interesting. We’ve known most of our customers for years and we know exactly how they like their flour ground. It’s not a fancy business and we don’t have a lot of modern office equipment. It’s just us, the mill, and the people of Peruvallur. We start early and by the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired and covered in dust, but it’s good, honest work that we’ve been doing for a long time. It feels good to be a part of the daily life here.
