Flavor India Spices Private Limited is situated at Lakshmi Villa, which is in the Ummenchira area of Thalassery. If you are from around Kannur, you probably know that Thalassery has a long history with trade and food. We are just continuing that in our own small way with our spice business. We work out of the villa, so it’s not your typical commercial building you see in the city. It’s a more comfortable, lived-in space where we get the work done. We handle various spices, sorting them and getting them ready for whoever is buying from us. The smell is the first thing you notice when you walk in, it’s quite strong but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't into big marketing or anything like that, we just focus on the spices themselves and making sure they are okay. Most of our day is spent in the back areas where the actual handling and packing happens. It’s a lot of manual work, making sure things are clean and correctly measured out for the bags. Ummenchira is a nice place to be, and having the post office nearby is handy for our business. We just do our daily tasks, keep the villa organized, and make sure the orders are ready on time. It’s a simple life and a simple business, nothing too complicated about it. We’ve been at 670649 for a long time now and it feels like the right home for us.
