Eatery Malabarikas Llp

We are out in Ulikkal, at a place called Krishna Nivas. It’s building number XIV 173. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but we like it here. It’s where we do all our cooking and prep work. We call ourselves Eatery Malabarikas because that’s the style of food we know best. It’s what we grew up eating. Our kitchen isn't anything like what you see on TV. It’s a real place with some soot on the walls and the smell of burning wood sometimes. We do things the old way because it tastes better. We don't have a big dining room. Most of what we do is getting food ready for others to take away. There's a lot of chopping vegetables and grinding spices by hand. Our hands are usually stained with turmeric. We don't have a manager in a suit. The person who answers the door is usually the same person who was just stirring the pot. It’s a small operation. We don't have a lot of money for big signs, so people just find us by asking around Ulikkal. When the rain starts, the sound on the tin roof is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. But we stay dry and keep the stove hot. That’s all that matters. It’s just us working every day to make sure the food is ready before the sun goes down.
