Ghs Mecode

Down at 1 1 55 in Vilavancode, you will find our school, Ghs Mecode. We are right in the Kanyakumari district, which means we get a fair bit of rain and everything stays pretty green around the school yard. This is a government high school, so things are kept very simple and straightforward. We do not have a lot of bells and whistles here. There are a few blocks of classrooms and a small office where we keep all the records and files. Every day starts with the assembly, and then it is just one period after another until the afternoon. The students come from the local houses in Vilavancode, mostly walking or coming on their cycles. We spend a lot of time just making sure the kids stay focused on their studies. The furniture is a bit old, and sometimes we have to move things around to make more space in the classrooms. It is a very practical environment. We do not have a website with fancy photos. If you want to see what we do, you just come by the gate. The teachers here are used to the local way of doing things. We have our small staff meetings in the tea break and talk about who is doing well and who needs a bit more help. It is just a normal school where we try to keep the daily grind going without much fuss.
