Shri Ram Rice Mill

Our mill, Shri Ram Rice Mill, is situated on Galiya Ganj Road over in Nawapara Rajim. If you know the area, we are right opposite the petrol pump, which makes it easy to tell people where to find us. Dealing with rice is a messy business sometimes, with all the dust and the heavy bags, but it’s what we do. The mill has been running for a while now and we just take it one day at a time. The machines are loud and they need a lot of looking after so they don’t break down when we have a big load of grain coming in. Farmers bring their stuff here and we get to work processing it. It's a lot of standing around and watching the hulls come off, then packing everything up. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. Most of the time, you’ll find us out on the floor or near the loading area. The heat can get a bit much in the summer months, but that is just part of living and working in this region. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill around, just a reliable one where people can get their rice sorted. It's a plain, honest way to make a living, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the machines after all these years of working on Galiya Ganj Road.
