Maa Kali Rice Mill

We've been running Maa Kali Rice Mill here in Khiri for a good while now. It's right in Ward No.1, just a short walk from the Maa Kali Mandir. People in the village and over in Tehsil Por know us well enough. We mostly focus on getting the rice sorted and cleaned properly before it goes out. The machines make a lot of noise during the day, but that's just how the work goes. We don't have a big fancy office or anything. It’s a dusty place because of the husks, but we keep things moving. Sometimes the power goes out, which slows us down, but we just pick up where we left off when it comes back. My brother and I handle most of the daily stuff, from talking to the farmers who bring their crops to making sure the bags are stacked right. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill in the state or anything like that. We just want to make sure the rice that leaves our gates is clean and ready for people's kitchens. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets hot, but we’re used to it by now. If you’re coming from the main road, just look for the temple and you’ll find us easily. We don’t do much advertising, mostly just people telling each other about us. It's a simple life out here in the village.
