Sungal Tea Estate

Our home is the Sungal Tea Estate, located at Post Sungal in the Kangra district. Living and working on a tea estate is quite different from being in a city factory. Everything depends on the weather and the hills. We have been here for generations, and the tea bushes cover most of the land around the main buildings. It is a quiet place, except for the sounds of the birds and the occasional tractor. We wake up early to check on the growth and see what needs to be picked. The air is always fresh here, which is one of the best parts about being in Kangra. Sungal Tea Estate isn't just a business for us; it is where we live and breathe. The processing shed is an old wooden building that has survived many winters. We don't have a corporate office with glass walls. Our meetings usually happen standing up in the middle of the field or over a quick cup of tea in the kitchen. The work is hard on the back, but there is something nice about seeing the hills every morning. We don't spend money on big advertisements. People who know tea usually find their way to Sungal sooner or later. It’s a slow life, following the seasons and making sure the leaves are handled right. We just keep doing what we’ve always done.
