Sahasra Saffron Private Limited

You can find us over in Ward Number 4, specifically in the Jharer area of YOL. It is part of Shahpur. We work with saffron, which is a very delicate thing to handle. It takes a lot of patience to sort through everything. Our workspace is pretty simple, just some tables and chairs where we do the sorting and packing by hand. It isn't a high-tech factory. Most of the work is done very carefully because the threads are so small and easy to mess up. We spend hours just sitting and making sure the quality is what it should be. Sahasra Saffron started because we wanted to bring this type of work to our local area in Shahpur. Sometimes the lighting isn't great, so we have to move the tables closer to the windows. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about stuff going on in the village or the weather. It is a quiet kind of job, not like the noisy dairy or baking businesses. We have to keep the room very dry because moisture is bad for the saffron. Sometimes the wind blows through the ward and we have to make sure the doors are shut tight. We are just a local group of people trying to make a living from this specific trade. It is a lot of small details and careful movements. We don't rush things because you can't really rush saffron.
