Karam Hardware Store

We’ve been here on Jawalamukhi Road for a good while now. It’s right near the Government College in Amb, so we see a lot of students walking past every day. Most of them aren't looking for hammers or pipe fittings, but their parents usually are. The shop is full of all sorts of things, from basic nails to big heavy tools that take up a lot of space on the shelves. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much, especially when the wind picks up off the road, but that’s just how it is around here. We spend most of our mornings just moving stock around and making sure we have enough of what people actually need for their home repairs. It isn't a fancy place by any means. There are stacks of paint buckets in the corner and coils of wire hanging from the ceiling. People stop in because they know we are here and we usually have that one specific screw they lost. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. Word gets around mostly through the neighbors. Dealing with hardware is honest work and it keeps us busy from the time we open up until the sun starts to go down. If someone needs a bucket or a new wrench, they just walk in and ask. It’s a simple routine and it works well for us and the folks living nearby in Jawalamukhi. We’re just part of the street.
