Veee Are One Manual Orchestra

We are located out in Kattupakkam, specifically in the Indhira Nagar area of Chandurpuram, which is part of Poonamallee. It’s a bit of a journey for some, but for us, it’s just where we live and work. Veee Are One Manual Orchestra is really just a group of people who like playing instruments together. We don't use all those electronic tracks or fancy computers; it’s all manual, just like the name says. Our space is usually filled with the sound of drums being tuned or someone trying to get a trumpet part right. It gets quite loud, and I’m sure the neighbors in Indhira Nagar have a lot to say about it, but they’ve mostly gotten used to us by now. The room we use isn't very big, so we have to stack the instrument cases against the walls to make enough space for everyone to stand. During the summer, it gets incredibly hot in Poonamallee, so we have a few old fans whirring away while we practice. We spend a lot of time traveling in a cramped van to get to different places, often eating dinner on the road. There’s nothing very glamorous about it. We have to carry our own speakers and stands, which is hard on the back after a few hours. We just focus on the rhythm and making sure everyone is in sync. It’s just a bunch of us trying to keep the old style of music alive without any shortcuts.
