R.T.G. Aluminium & UPVC Fabrications

Our place, R.T.G. Aluminium & UPVC Fabrications, is on Kundrathur Main Road. We are at number 45, which is right near the Nagathanmman Koil in Porur. If you are driving towards the temple, you will probably see our shop. We work mostly with aluminium sections and those UPVC frames that people use for windows these days. It is different from working with heavy iron because the materials are lighter, but you have to be very careful with the glass. The shop is filled with long white and silver bars that we cut down to size. We have those mitre saws that make a high-pitched noise when they cut through the metal. It is a dusty job with all the tiny shavings on the floor. Porur is a busy area so there is always dust coming in from the main road. We spend the day fitting gaskets and screwing frames together. We do not have a fancy showroom or anything. It is just the workshop where we do the actual cutting and assembly. People from the nearby apartments usually drop in to ask about a door or a window partition. We just tell them how much material it will take and how long we need to finish it. We use the space we have to stack the finished frames until they are ready to be moved. It is just a regular shop doing regular fabrication work for the neighborhood people.
