Nesavu Silks Private Limited

Nesavu Silks Private Limited is located in Kanchipuram, which everyone knows is famous for silk. We are right on Chengalvarayan Othavadai Street in Pillaiyarpalayam. Our building is number 33. Being in Kancheepuram, you see a lot of this kind of work, but we just focus on what’s happening inside our own four walls. It’s a place filled with the sound of looms and the sight of bright silk threads everywhere. We don't have a shiny showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights. Our space is more of a workshop where the actual making happens. It’s messy and there’s always a lot of stuff piled up in the corners. We use a lot of traditional methods because that is just how things are done around here. The people who work here have been doing this for years, and they don't need a manager telling them what to do every five minutes. They just know the patterns. We don't talk much about visions or goals. We just talk about the weight of the silk or if the dye came out the right shade this time. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, which can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. When the day is done, we lock up the heavy doors and walk home through the busy streets of Kanchipuram. It’s just how we live and work.
