Sona Fashions 2000

Sona Fashions 2000 is located at 1/5, Mount Poonamallee Road. We’re in the V. Giri Building in Nandambakkam. If you know the area, you know it’s a busy stretch of road. Our place is full of fabrics, threads, and sewing machines. It can get quite loud when all the machines are running at once. We spend our time looking at patterns and cutting cloth. It’s a hands-on job. There’s always lint on our clothes and scrap fabric on the floor. We don't have a fancy showroom. We just have our workspace where the actual making happens. People come to us when they need clothes made or altered. We don't do big fashion shows or anything like that. We just focus on the garments sitting in front of us. Some days we are working on simple shirts, and other days it might be something more detailed for a wedding or a festival. The traffic on Mount Poonamallee Road is something we’ve just learned to live with over the years. We open the shutters in the morning and stay until the work is done. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way because we can keep an eye on every stitch. We aren't looking to become a global brand. We just want to keep making clothes for the people who walk through our door. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy and we've been here long enough that people know us.
