EGR EVERGREEN ROOFING PRIVATE LIMITED is based out in Sengadu Village. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city, located at 38/2B on the Tiruvallur Road in the Kancheepuram area. The village life is a bit slower, which is nice, but we still work hard at the roofing stuff. We’ve been at this for a while now. The air is a little clearer out here than in the middle of Chennai, but the work is just as tough. We deal with all the roofing sheets and structures that people need for their sheds or houses. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure things are cut to the right size. Sometimes we have to wait for supplies to arrive on the big trucks, and if they’re late, we just sit around and chat for a bit. There’s a lot of green around the village, which I guess fits the name quite well. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us and a few workers who know the trade. People from the surrounding towns usually just drive over when they need something fixed or a new roof put on. We try to be fair and just do the job properly without making a big fuss about it. The Tiruvallur Road can get a bit congested with all the industrial traffic, but our spot in Sengadu stays pretty grounded. It's just a regular workplace for us.
