If you come to Bharathi Street in Ramapuram, you’ll find us on the second floor of a building in Ambai Nagar. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but the view of the street is okay. Devi Grity is a small operation. We don’t have a massive staff or a fancy reception area. It’s just a couple of rooms where we handle our business. Chennai is a loud city, and Ramapuram has its own share of noise, especially with the local traffic and the shops nearby. We mostly deal with administrative tasks and coordination. It’s the kind of work that involves a lot of sitting at a computer and making sure the numbers add up. We try to keep things simple. There’s a small tea stall downstairs where we usually get our morning drinks, and that’s where most of the local gossip happens too. We aren't doing anything revolutionary. We just do the kind of work that people in the area need. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living and working here. We appreciate the people who work with us and the clients who’ve stuck around for a while. It’s a quiet life in a busy neighborhood, and we’re happy to keep the doors open every morning. It’s not perfect, but it is our business and we take it seriously enough to keep going.
