Our place is located in the Sidco Area of Thirumudivakkam, specifically at units 36 and 40. If you’ve ever walked through the industrial estate here, you know it’s mostly about grease, metal, and hard work. COFLE Taylor India Control Cables & Systems Pvt.Ltd. is where we spend our days making cables and various control systems. It gets pretty loud on the floor when all the machines are running at once. We aren't a massive corporate skyscraper; we are right here in the thick of the manufacturing zone. The team is a mix of older experienced hands and some younger kids learning the ropes. We focus on getting the measurements right because if a cable is off by a few millimeters, it’s useless. It’s tedious sometimes. We have our tea breaks out near the front where it’s a bit quieter. Dealing with supply chains and making sure the raw materials arrive on time takes up a lot of our energy. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and we all have to pitch in to fix it. That's just how it goes in Thirumudivakkam. We make things that go into bigger machines that other people use. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy. We’ve been at this for a bit now, and the neighbors in the other Sidco units are mostly friends. It’s a tight-knit spot, and we usually help each other out if someone needs a specific tool.
