Sona Store

If you find yourself on GMCH Road in the Biruberi part of Rupnagar, you’ll likely pass right by us. Sona Store has been sitting here in Guwahati for a while. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around. We just provide what we can to the folks living in these streets. The morning starts early for us. I usually get here before the sun is fully up to get things ready. There’s a certain way we like to arrange the packets so everyone can see what’s available. Sometimes the delivery guys come at the wrong time and block the entrance, which is always a bit of a headache. The traffic towards the hospital is always loud, so there’s a constant drone of engines in the background. We have a lot of regular customers who live in the apartments nearby. They know where everything is better than I do sometimes. It’s a small space, so you have to watch your step. We don't have fancy lights or displays. Just the standard shelves and a counter that’s seen better days. It serves its purpose though. Living and working in Rupnagar means you see a lot of the same people every day. We try to keep the stuff people use every day right at the front. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day.
