Sharma Fabrication

Our shop is located right on the No. 37 National Highway. If you know the Sarusajai Stadium, we are just a short distance from there in the Gorolia Lokhra area. It is a very busy spot. The trucks are constantly rumbling past and the dust from the road never really settles. We have been doing fabrication work here for a while now. Most of our days are spent with the welding torch or the heavy grinder. The sparks fly everywhere, so we have to be careful about where we stand. It is a noisy life, but you get used to it after a few months. We mostly make things like window grills and iron gates for the houses being built around Lokhra. Sometimes someone from the highway stops by because their trailer has a crack and needs a quick weld. We have a small bench in the corner where we keep our tools, though they usually end up scattered across the floor by lunch. The heat from the welding combined with the Assam sun can be quite a lot, so we drink a lot of water. There is a small tea stall nearby that brings us snacks in the afternoon. We are not a big corporate setup, just a local shop with a few guys who know how to handle metal. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and that is fine by us. The stadium lights are our landmark and they tell us when it is time to pack up.
