Dasgupta Tutorial

House Number 46 on Pandu Port Road is where we stay. It is in the Adabari area of Guwahati. If you know where the Durga Puja Field is, we are very close to that. During the festival season, it gets incredibly loud and crowded around here, but the rest of the year it is a fairly normal neighborhood. The house is an old-style construction, nothing like the new glass buildings you see in the city center. We have a few rooms set aside specifically for the tutorials. The wooden floors sometimes creak when people walk over them. Being near the port road means we hear the trucks now and then, but you get used to it. I usually keep some water and extra pens handy for the students who always seem to forget theirs. Guwahati has that damp weather, so the walls need a fresh coat of paint every now and then. We have a small porch where students leave their shoes before coming inside. It is a bit of a squeeze when the bigger groups arrive, but we make it work with extra stools. I have lived in this house for a long time, so teaching here felt like the right thing to do. It is not a fancy academy. It is just a place where we sit down and go through the textbooks page by page. Most of the kids come from the nearby houses in Adabari or take the bus down Pandu Port Road.
