Maa Store

Maa Store is a small place on Satgaon Road in Panjabari, Guwahati. We’ve been here for a while, just serving the local folks. It’s a family-run kind of shop, so you might see different people behind the counter depending on the time of day. We sell the basic stuff that every household needs, like flour, spices, and soap. The shelves are made of old wood and they groan a bit when we put heavy bags on them. Satgaon is a lively neighborhood, and we are right in the middle of the daily hustle. We don't have fancy signs or big lights. Most of our customers are people who live in the buildings nearby. They come in for a quick chat and to pick up their weekly groceries. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to explain to everyone why we don't have fresh eggs yet. It’s all part of the job. We try to keep the shop clean, but with the wind blowing in from the road, there’s always a bit of dust. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Guwahati, just a reliable one for our neighbors. We know which brand of tea most people prefer and we try to keep it in stock. It’s a modest way to live, but we like being part of the community here. Every evening we lock up and head home, ready to do it again tomorrow morning.
