Rajlakshmi Store

Rajlakshmi Store is a small place tucked away on Lakhimandir Path in Noonmati. We aren't on one of those big main roads, so it feels more like a local neighborhood spot. We’ve been running this store for several years now. It started out with just a few items on the shelves, and slowly we added more as people asked for things. The street is a bit narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, everything kind of stops for a minute. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be careful with how we stack things. You’ll usually find one of us sitting by the entrance, keeping an eye on the street. It’s a good way to see who’s coming and going. The shop doesn't have air conditioning or anything like that, so we keep the doors wide open. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, but we sweep it out every morning. We don’t do any advertising or anything like that. Most people just know we’re here because they live nearby or walk past us on their way to the temple. We sell the basic things that folks need every day. It’s a quiet existence for the most part. We like the people in Noonmati; they’re good neighbors. We just keep the shelves stocked and try to be helpful when someone can’t find something. It’s not a complicated business, just a regular store.
