Gauhati Medical College Alumni Association

The Gauhati Medical College Alumni Association operates out of the Indianoil Hospital near the Guwahati Refinery in Assam. It is a busy spot in Guwahati and can be a bit tricky to find if you are not already familiar with the hospital grounds. We spend a lot of time organizing things for former students who graduated from the medical college over the years. The office is not anything fancy, just a room where we keep our records and plan a few gatherings for the old batches. Being located at the Additional Chief Medical Officer’s area means there are always people coming and going from the clinic next door. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the refinery nearby, but it is where we have been for a while now. Most of the people helping out here are graduates themselves, so we just talk about old times while handling the paperwork and mail. There is always a stack of letters to go through and old photos from past reunions sitting on the desks. We try to keep the contact list updated, which is actually harder than it sounds with people moving around so much. If you ever find yourself near the 781020 zip code, you might notice our sign. It is just a simple place for doctors to stay connected after they leave the college. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us making sure things stay organized. It is more of a community hub than a formal office.
