Shiva Sai Spices

Shiva Sai Spices is based in Mortad, over in the Nizamabad district. Our place is at Hno 17-104. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell us before you see us. The air around the shop is always thick with the scent of turmeric, dried chillies, and whatever else we are processing that day. It makes you sneeze if you aren't used to it. We spend our days sorting through piles of spices and getting them ready for the bags. Nizamabad is famous for its turmeric, so we handle a lot of that. The floors are often stained yellow from the dust. We have a few grinders that make a lot of noise when they are running, so it’s hard to hear anything else. We mostly deal with local growers who bring their harvests in. It’s a busy environment with people hauling sacks in and out all day long. We don’t have any fancy packaging or big marketing teams. We just focus on getting the spices cleaned and sorted properly. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to store as much as we can inside to keep it dry. Every evening we have to sweep up the colored dust that settles on every surface. It’s a lot of manual labor, but seeing the bright colors of the spices makes the work feel worth it. We've been in Mortad for a long time now and everyone knows the smell of our shop.
