Our branch is over at 854/12, Narayanaswamy Nagar in Chilamakur, Kadapa. If you know Kadapa, you know it gets incredibly hot here, especially in the summer months. The sun just beats down on the pavement all day. We deal with cement, so the place is always covered in that fine white powder that seems to get into every corner of the office. Our building is pretty basic, just a place to store the stock and a small room where we handle the invoices. The local guys from Narayanaswamy Nagar are always stopping by, either for work or just to see what’s moving that day. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out of Chilamakur, and managing that traffic can be a real headache sometimes. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We are usually in old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. We’ve been part of the landscape here for a long time. People know where we are if they need cement for a house or a wall. We don’t do anything fancy like billboards; we just rely on being here when we’re supposed to be. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do things by hand, but we manage. It’s just how things go in this part of the country, and we are fine with that. We keep the gate open and just keep working.
