J.S.M Fire Services

Our shop is number 7 at Neelkanth Dhara. We are right near Khadke Maidan, so we hear the kids playing cricket or football almost every afternoon. It’s a good spot because people know the maidan well and can find us easily. J.S.M Fire Services is a small operation, mostly just us and a lot of heavy red tanks. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of dust because of the physical work we do. We spend a lot of time checking hoses and making sure the nozzles aren't clogged up. It’s practical work and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day. There’s a tea stall just around the corner where we go when things get slow. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff; we just stay here and wait for people to bring in their equipment for a check. The shelves are filled with spare parts and old manuals that have been there for years. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit under the front door when it pours, so we have to put some sacks down. It isn't a perfect place, but it works for us. We know all the other shop owners on this block, and we help each other out when needed. If you stop by Neelkanth Dhara, you’ll see our sign, though it’s a bit faded from the sun. We are usually here until six, just doing what needs doing.
