Delhi Public School Khariar Road

Our school is located in Shilda, Khariar Road, which is in the Nuapada district. Being out here means we have a bit more space than schools in the middle of a big city. The road outside can get quite dusty, especially when the buses are moving back and forth in the morning. We have a decent-sized building with several rows of classrooms. Most of the children come from the surrounding villages and towns nearby. The morning starts with everyone gathering for the assembly under the sun. It can get very hot in this part of Odisha, so we try to finish the outdoor activities early before the afternoon heat becomes too much. The classrooms are basic with fans and long benches for the students. We have a playground where the kids play cricket or just run around during their lunch break. The boundary wall has some drawings on it made by the students a few years ago. Our staff is mostly local people who know the families well. We don't have air conditioning in every room, just the usual setup you find in a regular school. The office is usually busy with parents coming in to pay fees or ask about their children’s progress. It’s just a regular school day for us, focusing on the textbooks and making sure the kids stay on track with their lessons throughout the year. We try to keep things organized despite the heat and the constant dust from the road.
