Yadrami Agriworld Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Shri Basayya Gurubasayya Hiremath’s place in Kotnoor D, Gulbarga. It’s basically a home-grown operation. We started this because the local farmers needed a way to organize things better. We aren't a big corporation with shiny buildings. If you come looking for us, you’ll find us at the address in Kotnoor. We handle different types of crops depending on the month. Gulbarga can get really hot, so we have to plan around the weather quite a bit. A lot of our time is spent talking to the neighbors and seeing what they are planting this year. We help with getting seeds and looking at how the soil is doing. It’s mostly practical stuff that needs doing every day. We don’t have fancy brochures. Most of our news travels by word of mouth in the village. It’s just a group of us trying to make the farming life a bit more stable for our families. Sometimes we meet on the porch and drink tea while we discuss the market prices. It’s not always easy and there are plenty of paperwork headaches, but we manage. Being at Basayya’s place makes it feel like a real community thing. We just do the work that needs doing for the crops and the land we have. There’s no big secret to what we do, it is just about being consistent and helping each other out when the harvest is thin or the prices are low.
