Vishwa Rajya Rice Mills

Our place is over on Pooja Medical Main Road in Shorapur, number 56/74 specifically. Being on the main road means there is always traffic and people passing by at all hours. We started this mill to handle the rice coming in from the local fields nearby. It is a lot of hard work when the harvest hits and everyone brings their crop at once. The machines are a bit old but they still do the job of getting the husks off the rice. You can hear the mill running from a block away most days of the week. We spend a lot of time checking the grains to make sure they are not getting crushed too much in the process. The warehouse gets pretty hot in the summer months, but we just keep the big doors open to let some air inside. Farmers bring their tractors and trucks right up to the front of the building. We talk to them about how the season is going while we unload the heavy sacks. It is not a clean job, and you usually end up with bits of husk in your clothes by the end of the shift. We have got a small area in the back where we keep the finished bags stacked up. Shorapur is a busy spot and being near the medical store helps folks find us. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us making sure everything runs. We keep our books in a small desk drawer.
