Shift Engineer

We are located in the Jeelanabad area of Gulbarga, specifically at H. No. 11-1041-49/4B. This part of the city is known for the M. S. K. Mills, and it has a very industrious feel to it. The Mohammadi Masjid is right nearby, so it’s easy for people to get their bearings when they are coming to see us. Working as a shift engineer in this part of Gulbarga means dealing with a lot of older infrastructure and keeping things running smoothly. The summers here are famously hot, so we have to plan our shifts carefully to avoid the worst of the midday heat. Our workspace is very basic. We have the tools we need and a place to sit and plan the day, but that’s about it. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or using fancy business language. It is just about the engineering work. We have been in this neighborhood for quite a while now and have become a small part of the local community. People stop by to chat or ask for advice on mechanical issues, and we help out when we can. The noise from the mills and the calls from the masjid are the background of our daily lives. We just focus on showing up for our shifts and making sure we handle the technical problems that come our way. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is important work that keeps the local economy moving forward. Every day is just about getting the job done.
