Nirmaladevi Engineering Corporation

Our place is right on Gunj Road, near the National Highway here in the Gulbarga district. It’s a pretty dusty area because of all the trucks passing by on the N.H. every day, but it’s a good spot for what we do. Nirmaladevi Engineering Corporation has been sitting here for a while now. We’ve got a big shed where most of the heavy stuff happens. It’s not very quiet around here, between the highway traffic and our own grinding machines, but we don't mind the noise. Most of the guys working here are from the local villages nearby. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high and the heat starts beating down on the tin roof. Inside, there are stacks of parts and half-finished jobs waiting to be moved. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us near the back where the actual work is happening. Sometimes we get people stopping in because they saw our sign from the road, looking for a bit of help with a machine or some fabrication. We just do what needs doing and try to get it right. It’s a straightforward way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. The road gets muddy when it rains, and the dust is everywhere in the summer, but this is home for us and our crew.
