Got School

Our place is called Got School and we are tucked away in Bennishiroor, which is in the Gulbarga area. Specifically, we are in the Maddi section. It is a bit of a rural spot, so things move a little slower around here compared to the big cities. The school is where the local kids from Bennisiroor come to spend their day. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of space outside for them to move around. It’s pretty dusty sometimes, especially when the wind picks up, but that’s just Gulbarga for you. We don’t have fancy stuff, just the basics like desks and blackboards. The teachers are mostly local people too. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. By midday, the sun is really hitting the roof, so we try to keep things cool inside. It’s a simple life here. We see the same faces every day and we know all the families in the village. It’s not just about the books, it’s about having a place for the kids to go. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just carry on with the lessons anyway. You get used to those things when you live out here. We are just a small school trying to help the children in our little corner of the world.
