Sri Satya Sai Fancy & General Stores

Tuni is a nice enough place to live, and our shop is located at D.No.2-28, right behind the Travelers Bunglow. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but people in Rajugari Beedu and Pakirapeta know where we are. We call it a Fancy and General store because we sell a bit of everything, from colorful bangles and hair clips to packets of salt and tea. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of the walls to hang things up. It’s a bit like a puzzle trying to find something when a customer asks for it, but I usually know exactly where everything is. The area is fairly quiet compared to the main market, which I like. Most of our customers are women from the neighborhood coming in for their daily supplies or kids looking for a small toy or some sweets. I spend a lot of my time sitting on a small stool near the entrance, watching the goats walk past or chatting with the neighbors who stop by just to say hello. Behind the bungalow, there’s a bit of shade in the afternoons, which helps keep the shop from getting too hot. It’s a simple business, really. I open up early in the morning after my tea and stay until the sun goes down and the streetlights come on. It’s just how things have been for years now in this part of Tuni.
