Sairam Bricks

Our yard is over at 5-89-521 in Suryaraopet. This part of East Godavari is always moving, and we are right in the middle of the action. Making bricks is what we do every day, and it’s a lot of heavy lifting for the crew. The yard isn't the biggest you've ever seen, but we manage to fit quite a bit of stock in there if we stack them carefully. Every morning we start by checking what’s ready for the trucks to take out to the local sites. The weather in East Godavari can be quite tough with all the humidity. Some days it feels like you are breathing in water, but the bricks still need to be moved and stacked regardless. We don’t have a fancy office or a big reception area with air conditioning. It’s just a small space with a wooden desk where we handle the daily paperwork. Most of the people working here are locals from Suryaraopet who have been with us for years. We see the same faces coming back when they are building a house or a new garden wall. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the traffic on the main roads can be a real mess, but we do what we can to stay on schedule. It’s a noisy place with the tractors coming in and out and the sound of bricks clinking together. You get used to the dust and the noise after a while. We just focus on keeping the stacks organized.
