District Informatics Officer

Our office is located inside the Mini Secretariat, which is usually a hub of activity with people coming and going for all sorts of paperwork. Being the District Informatics Officer means we deal with a lot of the digital side of things for the local area. It’s not always the most exciting work, but it’s necessary for keeping the wheels turning for everyone. The office is pretty standard government-style—beige walls, lots of filing cabinets, and desks that have probably been here since the nineties. We spend a lot of our time looking at data or making sure the network doesn't go down when it’s needed most. It can be a bit bureaucratic at times, but we try to keep things moving as fast as we can. We aren't here to sell anything; we just manage the systems that the public relies on. Most days are spent answering phones or troubleshooting software that's acting up on someone’s workstation. It’s a steady job and we take it seriously, even if the building is a bit drafty in the winter months. We’ve got a small team here, and we’ve all been through the same training, so we know how to handle the common issues that pop up.
