Shubh Masale

Shubh Masale is our little setup over at Chillbilla Chowrah. We are out in the Madhavgad area, which is a bit of a quiet place most of the time. We deal with masalas, mostly just grinding and mixing things the way we’ve always done it since we started. It’s a small operation. There are just a few of us here, and we know almost everyone who stops by the door. The shop is right there at the crossroads, so it’s easy to find if you’re in the neighborhood. We don’t go in for any of that fancy packaging or big slogans you see in the city. To us, it’s just about getting the spices right for the local kitchens. The machines are old but they still work fine for what we need. Sometimes we run out of something because the supply was late, but we just deal with it. People around Madhavgad seem to like what we do, and that’s enough for us. We spend most of our time out back where the grinding happens. It gets quite loud and the air gets thick with spice dust. You have to wear a cloth over your face some days. It’s not a lifestyle for everyone, but we’ve been doing it for years now. We just want to keep the tradition going without making a big fuss about it. It’s a simple life at Chillbilla Chowrah, and we are happy with how things are.
