Khodiyar Masala Bhandar

Khodiyar Masala Bhandar is located in Chitravad Village. We are in the Talala Taluka, not far from the post office and quite close to the Porbandar Highway. If the wind is blowing the right way, you can smell the spices from the road. We deal with all kinds of masalas—chili powder, turmeric, coriander, and the mixes we make ourselves. The shop is always full of bright colors and strong smells. It makes you sneeze sometimes when we are grinding the dry chilies. I’ve lived in this village all my life, and the shop has been a part of it for many years. We get people from the village and also travelers who pull off the highway because they heard about our powders. Everything is handled by hand. We clean the seeds, dry them, and then grind them up. It’s a lot of manual labor. The floor is usually stained with yellow from the turmeric. We don't have any fancy packaging. We just put the spice in plain bags and tie them up. It’s a local business through and through. The building is old and the walls could use some paint, but the spices are fresh. We open early in the morning and stay open until the sun goes down. People trust us because they know we don't mix anything bad into the masalas. It's just pure spices from the ground. We work hard to keep the quality right for everyone in the District and beyond.
