Garrison Engineer

Working at the Airforce Station near Maliya is a bit different from a regular city job. You have the security gates and the sound of planes in the background. It’s a big area, and the GE(AF) section is tucked inside the MES complex. It’s a very orderly environment, as you’d expect. The buildings are all that same functional style. Garrison Engineer is about maintenance and keeping things running on the base. It’s not a commercial shop where people just wander in. We have our schedules and our lists. The sun out here near Maliya can be really brutal. There isn't much shade when you’re walking between the different hangars or offices. We spend a lot of time outdoors checking on stuff. The office itself is quite plain. Metal desks, old ceiling fans, and a lot of official-looking ledgers. We don't do much in the way of decoration. It’s all very practical. Most of the people we interact with are in uniform. It makes the day feel very structured. Even lunch happens at a set time. We’ve been here long enough that the roar of the engines doesn't even make us look up anymore. It’s just the background noise of our daily lives. It’s a unique place to work, far from the chaotic markets of the town. There is a small canteen nearby where we get some snacks, but that’s about it for excitement around here.
