Jai Balaji

We opened up here in Sitapur along the Jorhat Borholla Road a good few years back. Most days start pretty early because that is when the trucks come by with the new stock and we have to get everything moved inside before the sun gets too hot. It is a dusty stretch of road sometimes, but we get a lot of people stopping in while they are traveling between Borholla and the main town area. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving the bags around, but that is just how the work goes. We keep things simple here. There is usually a bit of a rush in the evening when everyone is finishing up their work for the day and needs to pick up a few things for dinner. I usually sit on the wooden stool near the front and keep track of who is coming and going. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, and we have to put down some extra mats so people do not slip. It is not a big fancy place or anything like that. Just a shop where we try to have what people are looking for without making a big fuss about it. We know most of the people who come in by their first names now. It is just life in this part of Jorhat, keeping the doors open and making sure the shelves aren't empty when someone needs something.
