Out here in Basni, things move at a certain speed. Wonder Appliances Pvt.Ltd. is located at E-330A, MIA, Phase II. It’s a pretty standard industrial shed. When you walk in, you’ll see rows of appliances in different stages of being put together. Some are just shells and others are almost ready to go out. The floor is concrete and shows all the years of heavy lifting we’ve done. We have a crew that’s been here a while. They know exactly where every screw and wire goes without even thinking much about it. It’s repetitive work, sure, but it needs to be done right. Phase II of the MIA is full of places like ours, so the sounds of forklifts and delivery trucks are constant. We have a small area near the entrance where we keep the finished stock. It’s always a bit of a scramble to get things loaded onto the trucks when they arrive. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, which gives everyone a chance to talk. Then the lights flicker back on and the noise starts up again. E-330A is our home base. We don’t do anything flashy. We just show up, put the appliances together, and head home when the shift is done. The yard outside gets dusty when the wind picks up, which happens a lot around Basni. It’s just regular work for us.
