Vinayak Fancy & General Store

Our store is on Paota 7th C Road in Jodhpur, right near Ram Krishna Vatika. If you know the garden, you can easily find us. Being a fancy and general store means we have a mix of everything. We have items like ribbons, bangles, and small gifts, but we also keep the daily things people need for their homes. Jodhpur can get very sunny and the sunlight hits the front of the shop in the mornings. We have an awning to keep the shop cool. Inside, the walls are covered with different types of items hanging on hooks. The kids from the neighborhood like to come and look at the toys and hair clips. We spend a lot of time organizing the small items because they get messy very quickly when people are looking through them. Near the garden, it’s usually peaceful but in the evenings, more people come out for walks and the shop gets busy. We have many regular customers who come by just to see what new things we have brought from the market. We go to the main city market once or twice a week to restock. Sometimes the delivery truck can't enter the small lane so we have to carry the boxes ourselves. It’s just a simple neighborhood business and we like being part of the community here in Paota. Most of our day is spent helping people find the right color of thread or a specific kind of soap.
