Tirupati Departmental Store

Tirupati Departmental Store is located at No. 16 in the shopping centre, right near the Pital Factory in Shastri Nagar. Being near the factory means we get a lot of workers coming in during their breaks or after their shifts are over. The shopping centre itself is a bit of an older building, but it’s always got something going on. We keep the shelves stocked with all the usual departmental stuff. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially the smaller items that tend to get lost behind bigger boxes. I spend a lot of my time checking dates and dusting off the bottles. The floors are concrete and have some cracks, but they hold up under the heavy trolleys. We don’t have any fancy lighting, just the basic tubes on the ceiling that flicker sometimes. It’s a straightforward shop. We open up early because the factory hours mean people are out and about before the sun is even fully up. Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming when the shift ends and twenty people walk in at once, but we do what we can to get everyone what they need. There’s no big corporate office behind us, just a few of us working here every day. We know the neighborhood well and we’ve seen the kids grow up over the years. It’s just a regular part of life here in Shastri Nagar for us.
