Shri Hari Stone Art

We've been at C-4 1st Ext in Kamla Nehru Nagar for a while now. Shri Hari Stone Art is mostly just us working with different types of stone every day. It gets pretty dusty in the shop, but that is how it goes when you are cutting and shaping blocks. People come by when they need something specific for a house or a garden. We spend a lot of time looking at textures and making sure the edges are right. Sometimes a piece of stone doesn't behave like you think it will, so you have to start over. That is just part of the job. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years. We handle the heavy lifting and the fine details too. It isn't fancy work, but it keeps us busy. Most mornings start with a cup of tea and looking over the sketches for whatever project is next on the bench. We aren't a huge operation, just a local spot where you can hear the sound of tools hitting stone from down the street. We try to keep things organized, though the yard always seems to have a few extra slabs leaning against the walls. If you walk past Kamla Nehru Nagar, you'll see us there. The work is hard on the hands, but seeing a finished carving makes it worth the effort. We just keep our heads down and get the orders finished as they come in. There is always more work to do tomorrow.
