Shanti Granite

We have got our yard at Plot No-A-205. It is situated in the extension area of 2nd Kamla Nehru Nagar. Handling stone is heavy work. We spend most of our time out in the dust and the sun. Shanti Granite has been around for a bit. It’s not a shiny showroom with air conditioning. It is just a plot where we keep our stock of granite. Kamla Nehru Nagar is a busy place, but our corner in the extension is where the actual labor happens every day. We deal with the heavy slabs and the cutting machines. Sometimes the tools are very loud. You get used to it after a while. My cousin and a few workers stay busy here from morning till evening. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to greet you at the door. Just a small desk where we keep the bills and the register. People come by to look at what we have sitting on the ground. It is heavy lifting every single day. The weather affects us a lot since it is mostly open. If it rains hard, things slow down quite a bit. If it is too hot, we take more breaks in the shade. That is just how the granite business goes for a small place like ours in the extension. We are right there at A-205, near the other industrial plots. It is simple, honest work. We are here working every day.
