Sawroop Raja General Store

Our shop is tucked away in Katla Bazar, right in the middle of all the cloth shops in Jodhpur. It is always loud and busy outside with the rickshaws and people looking for fabric. Being at the Kapda Market means there is never a dull moment. Sawroop Raja General Store is on the first floor, which makes it a bit quieter than the ground level. We keep all sorts of small things that people working in the market or living nearby might need. It could be a bottle of water, some snacks, or even just a small item for the house. The stairs up here are a bit narrow, but people find us anyway. The building is old, like many things in this part of town, but it stays relatively cool inside. We spend a lot of time unpacking boxes and making sure things are where they should be. Sometimes the stock takes a few days to arrive because the market streets are so thin and hard for trucks to get through. It is a family thing, so you will usually see one of us sitting at the counter. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People just know where we are. It is a simple life running a store in the heart of the city. We see the same faces every day, which is the best part of being here. We stay open as long as the market is humming.
