Traditional Fashion Designer

Our spot is over in Sardarpura, specifically on the second floor of Mahaveer Tower on Gole Building Road. It’s No. 10. If you’re looking for us, you have to head up the stairs past the other shops. It’s a busy building. There’s always someone moving something or people talking in the hallways. We do fashion design here, but it’s not like what you see on television. It’s mostly us sitting at tables with fabric samples and sketchbooks. We spend a lot of time measuring things and arguing over where a seam should go. The light in the afternoon is usually good for seeing the colors properly. We’ve been in this tower for a while, and the neighborhood around Gole Building Road has changed a bit, but we’re still here doing the same stuff. There are sewing machines going in the back room most of the time. It’s a steady hum that you eventually stop noticing. We don’t have a big showroom or anything like that. People come in to talk about what they want made, and we see if we can do it. It’s a lot of back and forth. We just like making things that look decent and fit right. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when there’s a deadline, but we manage. We’re just a small team trying to keep up with the orders.
