Rooprajat Marbles

Rooprajat Marbles is based at Plot No-81 in Bana Jore. It’s right across from the Shanti Petrol Pump, so we get a lot of people stopping by after they fill up their tanks or trucks. The whole area is usually quite dusty because of all the stone work going on around here. At Rooprajat Marbles, we spend the whole day moving slabs and talking to contractors who need materials. It’s not a glamorous job at all. My clothes are always covered in that fine white powder by the end of the day. We’ve been here for a good bit of time now. Most people in Bana Jore know where to find us. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights. Most of the marble is just sitting out in the yard where you can see the natural colors in the actual daylight. It's better that way because you can see what you're actually getting for your floor. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when it rains and the yard gets all muddy. But we keep working through it. We have a small office where we sit and do the billing and take phone calls. It’s got an old fan that makes a lot of noise. We don't mind it. We just focus on the stone and getting it loaded. There’s a lot of heavy lifting. We use some machines, but a lot of it is just hard manual work. We close up when the sun goes down and the last customer leaves.
