Rajlaxmi Kirana Store

Our shop, Rajlaxmi Kirana Store, is located over at Panji Ka Bera near the Bhati Krishi Farm. It’s a bit away from the main Jalori Gate but people still find their way here. We deal with all sorts of kitchen staples like spices and flours. Jodhpur gets really hot in the summer so we try to keep the shop cool with a big fan. It’s at 236 on the map. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. My father started it and now I handle the day-to-day things. It’s not a supermarket where you pick things yourself, we usually grab them for you from behind the counter. That way we can chat with everyone who comes in. Sometimes the stock takes a few days to arrive from the city center. We just tell people to check back on Wednesday or Thursday. It’s a simple life running a store like this. We don’t have a lot of help, maybe just one boy for the deliveries nearby. The street outside can get a bit muddy when it rains but that’s just part of it. We know which brand of tea everyone likes. It’s just a basic local shop for the people around the farm area. We don't do any fancy marketing. Just open the shutters and start the day. It's what we know how to do best. We'll be here tomorrow morning too, just like always.
